Brew Crew is excited to share with you our latest Pocket Adventure, Autumn in the Mohawk Valley, a visit to the Arkell Museum and Eisenadler Brauhaus.

The weather is starting to change, and it is something we can all feel. It’s always sad to see summer go, but the crisp mornings of September can bring a little thrill as we look onward to autumn adventures – craft fairs, pumpkin spice, sweater weather…and Oktoberfests.

A great way to enjoy the turn toward autumn is a day in western Montgomery County at the Arkell Museum in Canajoharie and at Eisenadler Brauhaus in Palatine Bridge.

Arkell Museum

Canajoharie is a sweet little village that embraces its history and its quirks. The downtown is punctuated by a deeply loved dummy light that sits at the main intersection of town. The Arkell Museum juts out from the Canajoharie Library and houses a rich collection of regional artists, works from around the world, and an extensive history of the town’s most notable business: the former Beechnut factory owned by the Arkell Family. Open March through December, the Arkell is a great place to stop and explore.

Eisenadler Brauhaus

A few minutes down the road is Eisenadler Brauhaus, a German-style beer hall offering – you guessed it – German-style beers. If you can, schedule your visit for their annual Oktoberfest which is packed with lederhosen, schnitzel, stein holding, and live music.
